Courtney Baker (Gold Fever Glass) and Erin Murdock (Snip Glass) are teaming up to bring you the stained glass workshop you’ve been waiting for!
When: Saturday June 8, 2019 -OR- Sunday June 9, 2019
- each day runs from 10am-4pm, with a 45 minute lunch break

Class Fee: $300 per person

This workshop will cover everything you need to know about designing, fabricating, and finishing a stained glass window hanging. The class will offer students 2 designs to choose from: one in the style of SnipGlass’ work and one in the style of GoldFever’s work. The designs are custom made by Courtney & Erin and are EXCLUSIVE for this class! We will work with colored and textured glass to complete your design. Using glasscutters and grinders you will shape and smooth individual glass pieces. Through hands on learning, we will explain the copper foil technique and how to effectively, and cleanly, solder it all together. Finally, we will clean and polish! You will go home with a piece made by YOU!

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Erin Murdock is a Philadelphia-based glass artist. She holds a BFA in Craft & Material Studies (‘16), with a concentration in glass, from the University of the Arts. Currently, Murdock operates a studio under the name “Snip Glass” which was established in 2016. This has recently become her full-time occupation. Prior, Murdock was an apprentice at a restoration and custom fabrication stained glass studio in Ardmore, PA. Her interest in stained glass was first made possible through Judith Schaechter, which whom she studied under at University of the Arts. In the summer of 2017, Murdock was a Teaching Assistant for Cappy Thompson & Dick Weiss' "High Test: Paint & Lead" class at Pilchuck Glass School in Standwood, WA. She has received a number of awards, including a student scholarship from the Glass Arts Society, and in the summer of 2015, received a grant from the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass to study glass casting with Daniel Clayman at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, ME. In 2016 her work was awarded a Gallery Pick by Wexler Gallery at the University of the Arts “Art Unleashed” scholarship fundraiser. Murdock's current fine artworks focus on traditional stained glass restoration techniques and incorporating uncommon materials. Working from her studio in Reno, NV, Courtney Baker has been creating art with stained glass since 2014. Her journey began after watching YouTube videos about stained glass. She was intrigued instantly, and started purchasing the supplies to finally try it herself. Through the course of trial and error, Courtney's craft has truly evolved and grown over the years with her own blood, sweat, and tears.
